Street food with new friends, anyone?

Updated: Jun 13, 2018

This spring has been exceptionally good in Berlin, which has enabled the street food culture to flourish. From Thursday to Sunday, the street food offering in Berlin is particularly good. We gathered some of the do-not-miss places below.

Street food Thursday in Markthalle 9 (Thursdays 17-22)

Thursday nights at Markthalle 9 is one of the Berlin street food staples. Each week you can find 20+ vendors selling everything from Californian style tacos to South African style bunny chows.

Flohmarkt im Mauerpark (Sundays 10-18)

In addition to the flea market, there are lots of options when it comes to food in Mauerpark every Sunday. Try for instance the Venezuelan arepas, the Moroccan tagine or grab a fresh fruit juice. Once you have eaten enough, you can join the bearpit karaoke or discover local products at the market.

Thaipark (Preußenpark, Saturdays and Sundays, no official opening times, but typically 12-20)

After a short ban, the inofficial Thai street food market is back in Preußenpark in Wilmersdorf by popular demand. Thai park does not officially sell food, but if you are lucky, you can finds some of the best papaya salad, dumplings and mango rice there.

Somewhat less regular, but also interesting venues include Birgit & Bier and Bite Club.
